KK2 OUT NOW! CD TOUR UNDERWAY

Thanks to everyone supporting the KK2 CD TOUR. First stop will be in Richland, MI on Friday, February 10th @ 9pm.  We have a ton of projects going on right now, including shows, videos, and music projects. We wanna know what you think of the new cd, and what you are looking forward to in what may be the final year on Earth - 2012!!!

KROWD KONTROL 2

Krowd Kontrol 2 is in full production mode!  Lots of returning artists but with all new flavors. Come out to Stagecoach for the GRINDHOUSE later this month to be part of the devastation.

Next Event

It looks like we have a location set for our first Krowd Kontrol event,  not sure if we will get any other local live acts or bands.  My eventual goal is to have a variety of quality live music all at one party whether it be alt/rock/punk bands, pop acts, hip-hop artists, or DJ Mixing.  Genre is not as important as quality as far as we are concerned.  We want to give everyone at the party something to love and remember.  more to come...

The Mixes

If you have a comment about any Sickbay mix cds/dvds, please post here.  The latest one is dubbed "Krowd Kontrol" by PRIME and is the first pure Hip-Hop/Pop Mash-up cd on our catalog.  After dozens of mix cds in the electronic music genre, we went for a much broader approach with Krowd Kontrol.  PRIME aimed to a more mainstream audience with his track selection while still using a lot of the skills he developed while spinning at raves over the past 2 decades.  Pulling in samples and song clips from many different genres made the mix accessible and enjoyable to a much broader spectrum of listeners.  It contains beats and vocals from pop 80s, 90s, 00s, as well as todays top 40, which give it broad appeal and reach.  The original tempos were kept in tact as much as possible to give respect to the original material.

The Live Setup

The Sickbay Sound System (dubbed "OPTIMIX") has been a main attraction at many bars, house parties, block parties, and rooftop events since first built in Chicago in 2006.  Currently running about 10,000 watts of power through 2 Sub cabinets, 2 main PAs, 2 stage monitors, an assortment of EQs and Power Amps, and an interactive led lighting system, this is one of the top mobile systems in the West Michigan area.  PRIME uses two analog turntables with a timecode interface to control all media (a collection which is over 2 terrabytes of music and videos).  A fogger and a strobe light also add cool effect to the event. Hopefully soon We can add an interactive laser to the setup, but that depends on getting some solid bookings. 

We are always looking for new locations to have an event, and for passionate individuals and crews who want to help make them happen.

Welcome to Krowd Kontrol

Hello and welcome to everyone who follows our music.  I created this space for three reasons...

1) To reach out to others who enjoy music as we do and get feedback on the mixes and mashups.

2) To build a network of passionate music lovers for the purpose of setting up live events and having as many people attend as possible.

3) To bring people together with the common interest of listening to music and having a good time with friends.

This is a place to share ideas and plan events, please do not come here to start trouble or you will be banned from here and possibly all future gatherings...

We will definitely remember who helped make it happen!  When we are able to give back there will be many rewards (VIP event passes, exclusive mixes, backstage access, etc.) for those that were there when it mattered most.
